Akatsuki Gomoku (あかつきごもく­?) is a cartoonist, illustrator, and is the wife of Mine Yoshizaki. She was the character designer and illustrator of the Macloids, and VOCALOID3, and VOCALOID4 Macne Nana.

Macne Series[]

In late 2009, Ikezawa Haruna started plans to make a "Vocaloid for Mac", and she enlisted the help and services of Gomoku to start drafting ideas and designs for a character they named "Macne Miku". In the first volume of Macne:bon, Gomoku showed these designs and ideas for a character that slightly resembled the Vocaloid, Hatsune Miku.

Other Works[]

Gomoku had worked on many other projects as the main character designer or artist. A few of these projects no longer exist, or there is sparse information about them.

  • TAP San-Nin-Musume (TAP三人娘?) is an UTAU project with art by Gomoku, the three sisters had a contest/lottery draw for picking the voice actor to record. Currently, there has been no new information since 2013.
  • GUNBARICH (ガンバリッチ Ganbaritchi?) is a Breakout clone arcade video game developed and published by Psikyo. Originally released for the arcades in 2001, it was later ported to the Nintendo Switch by Zerodiv in 2017.
  • Daybreak Illusion (幻影ヲ駆ケル太陽 Gen'ei o Kakeru Taiyō?) is an original anime series produced by AIC and Aniplex. The series aired in Japan between July and September 2013, and was simulcasted by Crunchyroll. A manga adaptation was serialized in the June 2013 issue of Square Enix's online magazine, Gangan Online. A light novel adaptation written by Michiko Itō, with illustrations by Gomoku Akatsuki, was serialized from June 10, 2013 in the monthly magazine Newtype, published by Kadokawa Shoten. The story follows a group of magical girls whose powers and personalities are based on the major arcana as they fight monsters born from humans that succumbed to despair.
  • Buster Police (バスターポリス 百花繚乱 Basutā Porisu Hyakkaryōran?) was a voice acted drama. Not much is known about this series, other than a few tidbits of info from Gomoku's news page. All links surrounding this series are dead, except for links to a few blogs.
  • Final Romance 4 (ファイナルロマンス4 Fainaru Romansu 4?) is a mahjong game published by Video System for the Sega Saturn, and is the third game in the series released for the Saturn, after Idol Mahjong Final Romance 2 and Idol Mahjong Final Romance R, and was the voice of the penguin, Chin-ta.
  • X-MARKET was a magazine that Gomoku did the cover art for a few volumes in the late 90's.
