Macne Bon Cover

Macne:Bon (マクネボン Makunebon?, "Macne Friends") was a fanbook launched in 2009, which contained information on the Macne family, such as concept designs, short comics on their antics and adventures, as well as origin stories by Akatsuki Gomoku.

Macne:Bon[]

Published December 30, 2009. B5 version, 84 pages (16 pages in color).[1]

The first main volume contained the preliminary sketches and designs for when Ikezawa Haruna was trying to create a "Vocaloid for Mac" named "Macne Miku" (Mac音ミク). These early designs reflected the idea that they wanted to make a Hatsune Miku for Mac, having her look similar in style. Eventually ditching the Miku formula, more original ideas and designs were created before deciding on the final concepts for Macne Nana and Macne Petit.

This volume also shows the concept for Macne Coco White, with one of her only original concepts.

Additionally, photos of and by Haruna Ikezawa are included.

Macne Shota

At the end of the book, the staff reveal information about potential character ideas. An example of this is a character with the placeholder name "Macne Shota" (Mac音ショタ?), as depicted in this section. She was meant to be a rival for Nana and Petit. In the interview, Haruna, Gomoku, and Uma-san all talk about potential Macloids:

  • Macne Rei (Mac音レイ(零)?) - Nothing but a name. Presumably female.
  • Macne Senjuro (Mac音千十郎?) - A kabuki dancer. Presumably male.
  • Macne Annie (Mac音アニー?) - Haruna described her as a "fiery yet crispy girl".
  • Macne Toki (Mac音トキ?) - Based on Gomoku's son's friend from kindergarten.
